Florida Online Sports Betting: Hard Rock Bet Gamblers Post About Leaving Waitlist After Court Decision

Florida online sports betting appears to be ramping up on Hard Rock Bet now that the Florida Supreme Court denied West Flagler Associates‘ request to “suspend” wagering. That Nov. 17 denial doesn’t mean that the state or federal lawsuits brought by West Flagler are finished, but Florida bettors seemed to think so. They took to social media to say they’d just been pulled off of the app’s waitlist and were ready to bet.

That Hard Rock Bet waitlist started on Nov. 8, when the online sportsbook resumed operations for legacy bettors and some loyalty program members.

The legacy bettors still had accounts from 2021, when Floridians were allowed to wager legally for a few weeks. Some Unity by Hard Rock members were also eligible.

Everyone else interested in Florida online sports betting could then join the waitlist, called Early Access, and find out via email when Hard Rock Bet would accept their wagers.

This Sunshine State resident posted the following about an hour after the court decision:

So did this Indian Rocks Beach resident:

Florida Online Sports Betting Waitlist

The Seminole Tribe of Florida still hadn’t made a statement as of press time about when it would open up Hard Rock Bet to new registrations that aren’t part of its Early Access program. It’s also kept the length of its waitlist private.

However, the owner of Hard Rock Bet had announced on Nov. 1 that retail sportsbooks would begin opening at its tribal casinos starting on Dec. 7. That was due to a victory in West Flagler Associates vs. Haaland. In that case, on Oct. 25, the US Supreme Court (SCOTUS) denied West Flagler’s request for a “stay” that would’ve prevented the resumption of sports betting.

West Flagler May Continue Suing

West Flagler Associates may not be done suing the entities that allowed the tribe to offer online and retail sports betting to Floridians. The commercial casino owner’s court cases are why Florida sports betting halted from 2021 until recently.

  • The Florida Supreme Court still lists West Flagler Associates vs. Ron D. DeSantis as “open.” Gov. DeSantis and the Seminole Tribe of Florida negotiated the state tribal gaming compact that’s the subject of the court case.
  • There’s an outside chance SCOTUS may agree to hear West Flagler Associates vs. Haaland. US Interior Secretary Deb Haaland‘s office allowed the state tribal gaming compact to take effect.
  • Or West Flagler may file a new federal case that the Oct. 25 SCOTUS denial seemed to suggest.

Bettors Seem Happy

At least one Florida Hard Rock Bet gambler didn’t seem to care about the court cases. It’s a good bet that he was thinking about his favorite NFL player.

Best Crypto for Online Poker: Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Stablecoins?

Of course there’s more than one crypto. Bitcoin is easily the most famous crypto but Ethereum, Solana and USDC all have compelling features for playing online poker.

Today we’ll take a closer look at the most popular coins for online poker and which one might be right for you.

The Basics

There’s a decent amount of variety between the different coins you can buy but if you’re using it primarily for online there are some common features you’ll likely prize highly including the following:

The more exchanges or apps that offer a cryptocurrency the easier it will be for you to buy it. For instance Bitcoin is available on every crypto exchange and many apps like PayPal and Cash app. In addition an online poker site has to have built-in support for accepting the coin of your choice.

Crypto is already extremely volatile so it’s best to pick the most stable assets (at least for crypto) when picking a coin for online poker use. You’ll want to stick to the top coins by market cap and avoid meme coins that might not even exist in a few years.

A faster coin means faster deposits and withdrawals, which is ideal for online poker. This is the one major downside of Bitcoin, which takes minutes or hours to settle. Altcoins can potentially settle in seconds.

The Easy Choice – Bitcoin

If you don’t want to spend too much time on researching cryptocurrency then just use Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is, by far, the most popular crypto in the world with a market cap that has exceeded a trillion dollars at various times in its existence.

You’ll find support for Bitcoin and every major exchange as well as payment apps such as PayPal, Venmo or Cash App. In other words: It’s easy to buy.

Bitcoin, while still volatile, is significantly less risky than some of the smaller altcoins. It has the most impressive price performance over the longest period of time. Whenever the crypto market moves it tends to be Bitcoin at front and center with other coins playing catch up.

Finally the two major downsides of using Bitcoin for online poker: 1. Bitcoin remains one of the slowest coins with transactions potentially taking hours. 2. It’s not near as stable as stablecoins.

  • The most popular crypto in the world.
  • Available everywhere crypto is sold as well as PayPal, Venmo Cash App and more.
  • Exceptional price performance over the last decade.

  • Slow
  • Price still volatile compared to traditional currency or stocks
  • Not as stable as stablecoins

The Faster Choice – Ethereum or Other Altcoins

Ethereum coin on a gold background

If you’re not interested in Bitcoin than the next best choice might be Ethereum.

Ethereum is the second most popular crypto in the world and it does offer some advantages over the venerable BTC.

For online poker the biggest reason to use Ethereum over Bitcoin will likely come down transaction speed. Ethereum is 2X to 3X faster than Bitcoin and transactions usually settle in seconds or a couple minutes meaning it’s easy to confirm your online poker deposit.

The other major feature of Ethereum is that, outside of Bitcoin, it’s probably proven to be the most reliable crypto over the last decade.

The major downside of Ethereum is that the fees can be quite expensive during peak times on the network. It’s not unheard of for an Ethereum transaction to cost $5-$10 during busy times.

Of course you could pick an altcoins like Solana (SOL) or Avalanche (AVAX) if you want even faster settlement times and cheaper fees but those are significantly less proven than Bitcoin or Ethereum and online poker sites don’t always accept the more obscure coins.

  • Faster than Bitcoin
  • Available on every major crypto exchange and some apps
  • Usable for NFTs, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) or Staking

  • High fees
  • Volatile
  • Not as available as Bitcoin

The Stable Choice – Stablecoins

Tether stablecoin

Stablecoins might be the best possible choice for online poker if you don’t want to invest in crypto and just want a stable method of deposit and withdrawal. Stablecoins, unlike traditional crypto, are pegged to a real-world asset (such as USD) and always hold their value to that asset.

There are many different stablecoins — Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) are the most popular — but the all share similar traits.

Stablecoins eschew the volatility of traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum for a completely stable value. Stablecoins work on a variety of different networks including Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche and others and offer extremely fast transactions and extremely low fees.

The downside of stablecoins is that you will never experience any of that legendary price appreciation of coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum.

On the other hand, if you’re just looking to play poker than stablecoins might be the best possible choice.

  • Completely stable with no volatility
  • Fast transactions with low fees
  • Available on most crypto exchanges

  • Stablecoins never appreciate
  • More regulation is coming for stablecoins
  • Not available on all payment apps

What’s the Right Choice for Me?

At the end of the day only you will know what’s right for you when it comes to picking a cryptocurrency for playing online poker.

Bitcoin is probably the most widely accepted and most supported crypto in the world and that makes it an easy choice for poker players.

You could argue that if you’re only interested in playing online poker and don’t want to speculate on the crypto market than stablecoins like USDC or USDT are actually the best choice.

Finally if you’re really interested in crypto and blockchain technology than you might want to learn about some of the newer coins such as Ethereum, Solana or Avalanche and buy some units of each.

The only thing we’ll say for sure is that it’s probably a good idea to avoid lesser-known coins for online poker. You can take your chances at the poker tables instead of on risky coins.

How To Play Safely At Online Casinos

Online casinos are fun and entertaining, however, it’s always good to remember to play safe, be it with regards to responsible gaming, playing on licensed sites or choosing secure payment methods.

During these emergency measures, the safety and well-being of our players is our top priority, which is why we’re reminding you of our safer gambling tools.

Gamble Responsibly

We want you to have fun but be responsible every time you play with us. LiveRoulette encourages its players to gamble responsibly, and to use your funds wisely. Borrowing money to play, spending more than you can afford or using money which has been saved for other reasons is not the right way to go, as it can cause problems for yourself and the people around you.

LiveRoulette has several responsible gaming tools in place to help you play in the right way. You can set up your own gaming limits, budgets and boundaries. We work together with the Global Gaming Guidance Group (G4) to provide players with the tools to prevent unhealthy gaming behaviour. Here’s a recap of our top tools:

Set Deposit Limits

If you’re spending more time at home or you’re spending more time online, you can control your funds with a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit. You can set up these limits through My Account and accessing the Responsible Gaming page. You’ll also be prompted to set a limit when you first open an account.

Use Reality Checks

These days, most online casinos offer cool-off options, from 24-hour time outs to more permanent solutions. Need a reality check on your gaming? No problem. With LiveRoulette you can be notified through a Reality Check which helps you keep track of how long you’ve been playing. You can be informed every 15 minutes, 30 minutes, one or two hours, depending on the frequency you choose.

The Reality Check feature will automatically stop the game you’re currently playing until you either decide to continue with the game or you choose to exit. This feature gives you a detailed breakdown of your online casino activity, such as information about your current gaming session with regards to time spent and information regarding any wins and losses.

Take Time Out

Think you might be playing too much? Give yourself time to cool off by temporarily suspending your account.

For players who may wish to self-exclude on a more permanent basis, LiveRoulette and a number of online casinos allow you to register with GamStop. GamStop is a handy and free service which allows players to self-exclude from all online gambling companies which are licensed in Great Britain. To find out more information and to sign up for this service simply visit www.gamstop.co.uk.

Take A Self-Assessment Test

If you’re concerned about the possibility of developing a gambling problem you can try our online Self-Assessment test (if you’re a registered player), and see what the results show. If your test result has reason to concern you, consider activating a timeout on your account or contact customer support to receive further advice.

Protect Your Kids

It’s illegal for anyone under 18 to open a casino account in the UK, and we take all the necessary precautions to ensure we do not attract or target minors. All accounts are fully age-verified before anyone can play, and if an account cannot be verified for any reason it is suspended, and no play can go ahead.

Whilst you and your children might be spending more time at home, there are measures you can take to ensure that your children aren’t exposing to gambling sites:

  • Do not play in front of your children or minors.
  • Log out as soon as you’ve finished playing.
  • Keep any card details secure and out of reach.
  • Do not use auto-fill for email addresses, passwords and other account details such as usernames.
  • If you share your computer with people who are not yet of age, you can install software such as NetNanny to monitor, limit and protect your family from harmful content.

A Final Word Of Advice

Do not gamble if you feel anxious, tired or frustrated, and do not let your gambling get in the way of your daily activities. Gambling is not a solution to financial problems and should be done with your entertainment budget, not with your phone bill or rent money.

Decide how much you can afford to lose before you start playing, and remember once it’s gone, it’s gone. Apart from setting monetary limits, set yourself a time limit or a particular time window for play.

If you’re new to online slots and you don’t know your wilds from your win multipliers and your scatters from your stacked symbols, take some to browse our A-Z slots glossary. This article lists all the common terms you’ll encounter the next time you play slots online.

Hopefully, you should have a better handle on how online slots work after reading this glossary. Our goal is to help you become the next slots slayer right here at LiveRoulette!

All Ways: Otherwise known as ‘win both ways’ these slots can have hundreds of available paylines  which can pay from left-to-right or right-to-left, maximising your winning potential.

Autoplay: If you want to play a multiple number of spins without having to press ‘Spin’ each time, set your gameplay to autoplay a pre-selected number of spins.

Bonus Games: Most online slots have at least one bonus game, which is often triggered by scatters or wild symbols. These bonus games can range from free spins rounds to bonus wheels and “pick-me” features.

Branded Slot: A branded slot is one that’s themed around a specific franchise, such as a Hollywood movie or hit television series, featuring exclusive visual and audio content.

Cascading Reels: Symbols involved in winning combinations are removed from the reels, leaving gaps to be replaced by new slot symbols that drop in from the top. This gives you a chance to win multiple combinations on a single spin.

Classic Slot: A ‘classic’ slot is one which nods to old-school fruit machines, featuring the classic fruity symbols, bells, lucky sevens and BARS, amongst others.

Cold Game: More common on casino floors than online slots, when a slot game is said to be ‘cold’ it means it does not pay out as frequently.

Coins: The funds you add to your chosen slot are displayed in a coin value, based on the minimum bet size per spin.

Expanding Wilds: An expanding wild is a special type of wild symbol (see ‘Wild’ for full description). Whenever the expanding wild feature is active, a wild symbol will expand to fill an entire reel to bring greater winning potential.

Fixed Jackpot: Online slots with a fixed jackpot have a fixed maximum prize, usually triggered by landing five of a specific symbol on a payline, or sometimes triggered at random.

Free Spins: It’s possible to unlock extra free spins by landing certain win combinations, such as three scatter symbols on a payline. A free spin is quite literally a free spin of the reels.

Fruit Machine: The British name for a classic slot machine. Fruit machines are the classic three-reel, three-payline slots featuring fruit symbols, lucky sevens, bells and BARs.

Gamble Feature: Within some slot games it is possible to gamble the winnings from your spin. You could double, triple or even quadruple your money depending on the game, but it’s also possible to lose all your winnings.

High Volatility: A slot deemed to have high volatility means that it is programmed to give out less frequent prizes and jackpots. However, most high volatility slots tend to offer bigger prizes when they do pay out.

Hit-And-Run: This term is used to describe slot players that play on single payline slots using maximum coins for a few spins and move on to the next slot if they don’t win.

Hit Frequency: How often a slot pays out on average. For example, a game with a hit frequency of five is expected to yield a winning payline approximately every five spins.

Hot Game: The opposite of a ‘Cold game’, hot slots are those that are said to be paying out regularly and in large sums.

Jackpot: The jackpot of an online slot is the coveted top prize, and can be fixed, progressive or linked across a network of slots.

Linked Progressive Jackpots: On occasion, there are multiple slot games whose progressive jackpots are linked together, often branded slots based on the same franchise. It doesn’t matter which one you play, you will be playing for the same progressive jackpot.

Loose Slot: A ‘loose’ slot is one that is considered to have low volatility, paying out more regularly than a ‘tight’ or high volatility slot.

Low Volatility: Low volatility slots tend to have higher hit frequencies and are often great slots for beginners. The trade-off is that low volatility slots may have smaller prizes on offer.

Maximum Bet: The maximum bet is the largest stake you can place per spin on your chosen slot game, based on the number of active paylines and the maximum coin denomination available.

MegawaysTM: This is a popular slot game engine is designed to expand the number of rows played per reel, giving you up hundreds of thousands of potential ways to win.

Multiplier: A multiplier could be a specific symbol which can multiply your winnings by a predetermined figure. Multipliers can also be found in free spins rounds, when the more consecutive wins you land, the bigger the multiplier grows.

Near miss: Players that narrowly miss out on a winning combination on a payline describe this as a near miss.

Nudge: Inspired by classic fruit machine gameplay, some slots have a ‘nudge’ functionality included, allowing players to hit the nudge button to move a reel up or down one space to form a winning payline.

One-Armed Bandit: The first slot machines produced in land-based casinos, which required players to pull a lever to spin the reels.

Payline: A payline is the line that symbols need to align with to trigger a payout.

Pay Table: The pay table for any slots online is designed to fully explain the rules and payout sizes of each game. It outlines the low and high-value symbols to look out for on the reels.

Penny Slot: A penny slot game is one which requires players to pay as little as €0.01 per spin.

Pick-Me Bonus: A type of slot bonus screen whereby players must select on-screen options to reveal instant prizes.

Progressive Jackpot: A progressive jackpot is a rolling jackpot that continues to increase in value until it is won. A percentage of each player’s stake per spin is contributed to the progressive jackpot, so the more players play, the higher the pot.

Random Number Generator: All state-of-the-art online slots are powered by a random number generator (RNG), which is a tamper-proof algorithm designed to randomise the outcome of every spin.

Reels: These are the columns within which the symbols spin to create potential winning combinations.

Return To player (RTP): The RTP percentage gives slot players an indicator of how much they can expect to return from their spins. If a slot has an RTP of 97%, for every €100 you stake, you can expect to receive €97 back on average.

Scatter Symbol: The scatter symbol is often used to trigger bonus rounds, and is usually the only symbol on the reels that the wild does not substitute for.

Stacked Symbols: Whenever the same symbols appear on top of one another on the reels, they are considered stacked.

Stacked Wilds: Whenever the wild symbol appears on top of one another on the reels, they are considered stacked.

Total Bet: The size of the total bet in an online slot is the total number of coins staked across all paylines.

Variance: The variance of a slot is the payout rate of a specific game. Slots with high variance are programmed to pay out less frequently than low variance slots. Variance can be used interchangeably with volatility.

Video Slot: A video slot game is designed to be displayed on desktop, smartphone or tablet screens using virtual reels instead of mechanical reels.

Volatility: Highly volatile slots are those that pay out less frequently, but with typically larger payouts when they do. Low volatility slots are those that pay out smaller prizes over a greater hit frequency.

Wild: A wild symbol is one of the most lucrative symbols in a slot game. Wilds can usually substitute any other base game symbol to improve winning combinations, except scatters. The same way that a joker works in a game of cards.

Win Both Ways: Slots with win both ways functionality can pay out on paylines running right-to-left as well as left-to-right.

Zig-zag: Some slot paylines are designed to go up and down the reels or diagonally. These are known as zig-zag paylines.

Exploring the Variety of Online Casino Card Games

Technology has come a long way since the first mechanical computer. It is adding a new dimension to online casinos and gaming. A few years back, physical casinos ruled the gambling sector. The online alternatives were seen as untrustworthy or didn’t meet players’ expectations. But now, several casino card games have become mainstream, enhancing the options for a player.

Finding an end-to-end encrypted payment method to manage their deposits and withdrawals quickly was one of the main problems. Bulk transactions are an integral aspect of online casino gaming. This issue was addressed by an online casino using GCash. It created a sense of uniformity for the players playing many online casino websites. At the same time, it made the entire process of making deposits and withdrawing money seamless and reliable.

“It was not long before the new payment service attracted huge domestic and international attention, especially in the iGaming industry. With its speedy transfers and low fees, it can execute effortless transactions between gamers and online casinos.” according to Hiraya Alonto, a professional content maker and senior advisor at Casino10.

This simple transaction tool has played a vital role in transforming the digital casino gaming landscape. Players and online platforms have realized the benefits of using GCash to manage their transactions. Let us delve deeper into some of the most popular card game options available across most online casinos today.

#1 Poker – A Royal Blend of Skill and Strategy

The online poker community is diverse, offering a mix of seasoned professionals, casual players, and newcomers. Poker sits on the throne of classical card games. It comes across multiple variants, such as Texas Hold’em, widely popularized as a strategy-intensive, skill-based variant. It is one of those games that converts a beginner to a seasoned card-game player, owing to its versatility.

Players seeking a more significant challenge should try out variants such as Omaha and Seven-Card-Stud. The dynamics of each changing hand become pivotal to reading in these game formats.

Another variant is Three Card Poker. It is relatively simple, involving a three-card hand dealt to the player and the dealer. It can be a good starting point for newcomers. Players get to choose if they wish to fold or continue based on their cards, exclusively known to them.

#2 Blackjack – The Quest for 21

Blackjack is one classic card game whose flavor and excitement are retained to the letter in the online gaming casino world. The digital shuffling of cards and the straightforward yet challenging decision-making process make it an all-time favorite of several casino players. The ultimate aim is to reach the magical number 21 but stay within it. Newcomers can learn much about the anticipation of online card games such as Blackjack.

#3 Baccarat – The Elegant Variant

Online baccarat preserves the game’s simplicity, where players bet on the outcome of a banker’s hand, a player’s hand, or a tie. As players place their bets, the suspense builds with each draw, making baccarat a game of chance and a captivating experience.

#4 Rummy – The Mix of Strategy and Fun

Rummy is a family of matching-card games that require strategy and skill development over time. The most popular variant is Gin Rummy, where players aim to form sets of matching cards. Online platforms provide opportunities to play against opponents or computer-controlled players. Rummy is relatively easy to grasp, making it an excellent choice for beginners looking for a card game that combines strategy and entertainment.

#5 Go Fish – Family Friendly Fun

It is a simple, family-friendly card game, ideal for beginners and casual gamers looking for entertainment and fun. The goal is to collect pairs of matching cards by asking opponents for specific ones. Its simplicity makes it suitable for players of all ages. Several online gaming websites have seamlessly integrated different game variants into their carousel.

#6 Uno – The Casual Social Favorite

Several online platforms offer a digitized version of the classic physical card game. Uno’s straightforward rules and colorful cards make it an excellent choice for casual play. It welcomes players of all ages and unites players across cultures, owing to its simplicity and high entertainment quotient. However, one should beware of talented cheaters in the physical form of the game. The digital version leaves little room for them!

#7 The Rise of Live Dealer Games

Croupiers deal cards in real-time in live dealer card games, creating an immersive atmosphere. Players witness the real-time shuffle of cards and the wheel’s spin from the comfort of their homes. The social aspect is preserved as players interact with the dealer and fellow players. It escalates the online casino experience to new heights.

Every day, the line between physical and online casinos is blurred. One common question beginners ask is, “Should I go for online gaming or betting on sports? Which of the two is better for me?”

Although it is a highly personalized choice, you should begin by clearly defining your motive. For some, entertainment means the world, while others are attracted to the monetary aspect of Gcash online casinos. One should choose by analyzing one’s needs, risks, and luck factors.

The world of online casino card games has transcended mere gambling. They have become a cultural phenomenon, a digital canvas where strategy, luck, and entertainment converge. There are offerings for players of all ages and tiers. Beginners and professionals find their niche in the vast world of online casinos. So, whether you’re chasing a royal flush, aiming for 21, or battling mythical creatures with your deck, there is something to suit the taste and needs of entertainment and sport.

Kentucky Online Sports Betting Pre-Registration Begins on Aug. 28 for Sept. 28 Launch

Kentucky online sports betting officially launches at 6 a.m. on Sept. 28 but the governor said on Aug. 17 that those sportsbooks will accept pre-registration at 6 a.m. on Aug. 28.

That Monday is 11 days away.

In the video message Gov. Andy Beshear released today, he first talked about in-person wagering launching at 10 a.m. on Sept. 7 at land-based sportsbooks:

The countdown is on. Three weeks to sports betting.

Beshear provided a timeline for legal retail and mobile esports and sports betting to debut.

The first step is the regulator – the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) – voting on Tuesday. That vote will decide whether the seven sportsbook license applicants and the seven racetracks that want to house retail sportsbooks can offer sports betting to Kentuckians.

Kentucky officials expect esports and sports betting to generate $23 million a year in tax revenue. That’s based on online sportsbooks being taxed at 14.25% and retail sportsbooks paying a 9.75% tax rate.

Kentucky Online Sports Betting Timeline

According to the Beshear and KHRC announcements today, there are seven online gambling operators applying to offer esports and sports betting.

On Tuesday, the regulator will decide whether to approve the following applicants:

  • Bet365
  • BetMGM
  • Caesars
  • Circa
  • DraftKings
  • FanDuel
  • Penn Sports Interactive

After that, esports and sports bettors can begin to take action.

Beshear and the regulator named the dates below:

  • 6 a.m. on Aug. 28, “Kentuckians can pre-register an account with approved mobile applications.” The benefit is gamblers can get into their accounts quickly because launch-day-only registrations in other states have sometimes caused site crashes or slow onboarding. The announcement was gentler: “Allowing pre-registration eases strains on electronic systems that can sometimes happen when many people try to register at once.”
  • 6 a.m. on Sept. 7, pre-registered gamblers can deposit money into the apps.
  • 6 a.m. on Sept. 28, online sports betting begins.

Retail Sportsbooks Launch Before NFL Kickoff

Beshear wished for sportsbooks to launch at the beginning of the NFL season. It appears that’s happening for retail esports and sports betting.

Meanwhile, Beshear’s update had only one step for in-person bettors to take:

Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. EDT: Wagerers can place an in-person bet at licensed retail facilities.

However, regulators first have to vote on Tuesday regarding whether retail sportsbooks can open at these racetracks:

  • Churchill Downs, Louisville
  • Cumberland Run, “coming soon” to Corbin
  • Ellis Park, Henderson
  • Oak Grove Gaming and Racing, Oak Grove
  • The Red Mile, Lexington
  • Sandy’s Gaming and Racing, “coming soon” to Ashland
  • Turfway Park, Florence

To put the timeline in perspective, Beshear signed esports and sports betting into law on March 31.

Beshear said in today’s video:

Many said it would never happen. And guess what? We got it done.
